Globalization of Fastfood Restaurants

Over the decades America has noticeably opened thousands of fast food restaurant chains across the United States. It all started though, by few restaurants that appreciated its customers, that offered fast, friendly, and cheap food. The success of fast food chains is owed to such restaurants as McDonald's and in later years Burger King. Now these fast, friendly, and cheap restaurants have expanded to different cultures and countries, introducing to them the American way of life. This is where cultural proximity comes into play, some countries wish to make it more convenient to others such as by serving beer, making it surely a pleasant experience for all. Some cultures though cannot eat beef products, so to counter this, they give the people soy products, and substitutions are made accordingly to that countries preferences.

The success though is mainly owed threw the ability of media, in which McDonald's uses this as an advantage to their company broadcast across the world the famous McDonald Arch, their promotions, their mock-commercial, in which they will appeal to customers showing them that it is fast, friendly, and cheap experience. McDonald's has made deals with Walt Disney, Miramax and other cinema companies to allow the promotions of their characters in toy form. This helps boost Movie ratings, sales, and increases the popularity of McDonald's by them offering these toys in happy meals.

McDonalds has also made available a website in which it displays all the countries McDonald's are in and has a language preference for those who speak different languages, so that they are able to read and interact in their comfortable language. Billboards that are displayed on every highway, pit stop signs, are very fashionable and always they advertise that it is cheap and friendly, which is appealing to those who want to save money. Also many McDonald's have extended it's service by providing a semi-cafe lounge in which you can drink coffee, watch TV and for the little ones play video games in their semi-game room. They use media to market all their products and promotions, and to show people across the world that they are welcoming all with their slogan "I'm loving it."
